Cookies, Pilates, and Bone Health

Hello,

I want to thank you and congratulate your for taking action that should feel like another piece to your personal wellness puzzle. It might seem like cookies are a silly way to improve your health, but as with most things that make a difference in life, it’s what’s inside that counts. As you can see from the ingredients in these cookies, they are all little powerhouses.

I realize that at first glance, cookies and Pilates seem like a random combination, however they are not. Joseph Pilates referred to the core of our body as the powerhouse and taught that we need to gather and build strength from the inside out. Anything that I can do to help you to keep your bones strong and healthy as you age is worth my time, money, and energy. We are women encouraging & empowering women to get strong, stay strong, get happy, stay happy and share what we all do best to make each other stronger. Men are welcome too if you can keep up with us!

Whether it’s using Margie Bissinger’s Happy Bones Happy Life program, eating Kim’s scrumptious Finer Cookies, or simple learning to stay in bed 18 more seconds before you start your day to take deep breaths and count your blessings, these are all puzzle pieces to a perfect version of YOU.

I don’t have all the answers, no one does. I have had a difficult and stressful life from the moment I was born, 3 months early. I weighed under 2 pounds and in 1962, was not expected to live, but I did. My inner strength has allowed me to survive years of loss and heartbreaks and stress but this has taken a huge toll on my bone strength. Ironically, I look strong on the outside but like my smile, so often we hide our greatest weaknesses behind masks. On January 14, 2018 I fell on some ice and broke my arm & shoulder. Breaking a bone hurts and as strong as my core is, I wasn’t able to move. I was very grateful that I was able to reach my cell phone and call for help because nobody heard my screams and cries for help. I was starting to panic and the temperatures were below zero wind chill.

Now that I am recovering it has only fueled my fire to share my programs with everyone. Without strong bones, we cannot stand up for ourselves. it is HUGE to realize that we can do a few more things daily to protect ourselves. I encourage you to begin with one “puzzle piece” and go from there!
